New York, NY (December 2001) - Neal Pire, Plus One's Director of Training, was awarded top honors from the Greater New York Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (GNYRC-ACSM), for his contributions to the Chapter. He received the Outstanding Contributions Award, 2001.
Neal's many accomplishments within the professional community include his work as Treasurer and State Chair of the "S.H.A.R.E.S" (State and Regional Outreach, Help, Ask, Recommend, Experience and Succeed), a project dedicated to ACSM membership recruitment. As a leader in community outreach, Neal spearheaded the enormous project Fit Society Wellness at Work Health and Education Promotion program, cosponsored by MyFitnessExpert.com. This program delivered 6-weeks of health and fitness information, materials and physical activity sessions to approximately twenty NYC health department offices. Some topics that Fit Society Wellness at Work presented include: Get Strong, Get Relaxed and Get Limber. The program was so successful that the NYC health department plans on making this program an annual offering.
